Arden's First Easter

Arden now weighs 12lbs. Sleeps like a charm - at least 10 hours a night. We just got our jogging stroller in the mail and Kelly has already made good use of it - Arden loves riding in it! The weather was beautiful today for Easter. Kelly and I went to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to get a few pictures. Enjoy!

Getting a little more interesting

This accurately describes life with our 11-week old as well as our blog. Let's admit it, our blog has some words (blah, blah, blah) and some pics that change every now and then. I even got "crazy" and figured out how to do a slide show (whoopdy-doo). But tonight I've done the unthinkable (nope, not joined Facebook), I've started a YouTube account. This way you will now be able to watch short videos of Arden! They will be found on the left under "Followers". (you may have to wait a minute for the four random YouTube videos to change to ours - then "click" and enjoy!)
We'll try to put new ones up often...

First mommy post

Let me give you a look into our world through mama's eyes...
Arden goes to bed around 9:30pm. Wake up around 2am to the sound of Jonathan snoring, wake up around 4am to Arden grunting, feed Arden(this usually involves burps, spit up, and a round of hiccups, back to bed, 6am wake up to cat being a menace and Jonathan squirting her with water, 8am Arden's grunting again-this time I'm too tired to get up, so I pull her into bed to feed her and we both fall back to sleep (I won't roll over on her Grammie, I promise). So we finally start our day around 10am. We basically do the same thing everyday. Every 3 hours Arden eats and she usually takes 2 or 3 naps. She's getting so good at falling asleep right when I lay her down. Today she started rolling over...well almost. She can get on her side and I give her a little nudge to roll to her tummy. Everyone says she's so alert and strong for a baby her age. She'll be crawling before we know it. She's also been smiling and cooing up a storm, but no laughing yet. Last week she went to the Dr. and she weighed 11lbs. 2 ounces and is 23 in. long. I love being a mommy!We couldn't be more in love!

So....

I mean, sure, it has been a month since my last posting...but what am I supposed to type?! She ate, pooped and slept 4 weeks ago and she eats, poops and sleeps still. I wasn't expecting her to know the alphabet yet, but at least A, B and C - but nothin'. No words, not even "Go Sox" (which WILL be her first words...trust me).
We bought her a play mat that's a jungle safari and between that, the vibrating rocker chair and the swing we can constantly keep her entertained. And "entertained" = happy!
Tonight was our first family trip to Chick-Fil-A for dinner ... yum.
Arden did weigh-in yesterday at 10lbs and 13oz. Yup...she's a milkaholic.
She is finally starting to smile when we play with her (as opposed to the random - "I have gas" smiles that she produces).
We love her so much. Pray that she doesn't get this cold that I had and Kelly now has.
