Kelly and I took Arden to the doctor on Wednesday for a routine check-up and her 2nd Hepatitis B shot. She didn't mind the "check-up" portion of the trip...the shot however...?
Arden weighed-in at 9lbs. 3oz, and is 22" long (I guess you start using the word "tall" once they can stand...not sure though). She has already moved up in diaper size and outfit size.
She is such a sweet, docile baby. Last night she actually slept from 11:45 - 5:45 ... 6 hours!!! That was incredible!
I can't begin to tell you how great of a job Kelly has done! Kelly has not complained about tending to Arden throughout the night, dealing with her when she begins to get fussy during feedings, the constant changing of diapers and outfits, etc. I'm so thankful for her.

Birthday Recap
We checked into St. Vincent's hospital on Monday, December 28th at 8pm with Kelly experiencing strong contractions. After some good drugs (for Kelly, not me), 12 hours and being very close to beginning the "pushing" process, the doctors decided that due to Arden's heart-rate dropping significantly with every contraction - it would be necessary to undergo a c-section. All went wonderfully and at 8:55am on December 29th, we had 7lb. 2oz. 21" long Arden Rose come into this world!
Both of our families were there just hours later and got to see her and celebrate with us. So much fun! She's sleeping well, feeding well and is a sweet little docile girl who is (and this is, of course, a completely objective statement) the cutest baby ever!

Welcome to Sawtelle 3.0
Sawtelle 3.0 It has two meanings actually:
I grew up in a family that lagged behind a bit when it came to being "up-to-date" with technological advances. Our idea of an internet upgrade was passively waiting on the newest (free) AOL disc to show-up in our mailbox - I believe we got to 9.0 before we finally ditched dial-up.
While Kelly and I wouldn't say that we "lag behind" with technological advances, we have come to grips that we are still a little out-of-the-loop of many multimedia social networks - some by choice (no interest is MySpace, Twitter and I vowed to fight the Facebook craze and never join...still going strong) and some because we just knew very little about them. One of these was the art of "blogging". To be honest, blogging never really made sense to me - until now.
You see, the 3.0 is also the incredible "upgrade" that our family received when Arden Rose came into our lives on December 29th, 2009. She is the main reason we are starting this blog. Since Kelly's family lives in GA and my family recently moved to WY (not to mention my large extended family in NH) - we wanted to give them, and any of our friends, a chance to catch quick glimpses into what's going on with the three of us. We love her more than we can even express, and are so thankful to God for her.
We hope that you will enjoy these brief updates.
